Civil
Project Type: Commercial
Software: Civil 3D
Project Duration: 4 Weeks
Task Assigned
uppteam’s civil design support team delivered complete site civil engineering for a new quick-service restaurant in Springfield, Missouri. The scope involved site planning, grading and drainage, utility design, erosion control, and paving and striping. Our team built each deliverable around ADA compliance, zoning requirements, and municipal stormwater regulations within a strict four-week timeframe from concept through the final plan set.
Project Timeline
- Phase 1 - The first week of this project covered survey and concept planning. Our team built the base file from survey data and created the concept plan for client approval.
- Phase 2 - Weeks 2 and 3 of the project involved site and grading planning. Accordingly, we finalized the site plan and the grading and drainage plans that addressed floor resilience and runoff management requirements.
- Phase 3 - During the 4th week, the last stage of the project, we completed the utility plan, erosion control plan, and paving and striping plan as a fully coordinated package with the utmost precision.
Additional Notes
- Incomplete survey data was a big worry for early design accuracy. So, we cross-checked records with site verification and GIS mapping to corroborate each boundary and elevation.
- Constantly evolving local codes risked redesigns and thereby delays. Our team engaged regulatory agencies early and tracked updates to ensure on-time approvals.
- Existing underground utilities endangered coordination. We ran early utility location surveys and coordinated directly with providers to avoid relocation delays.
- Calculating previous and impervious surface areas needed precision. As a result, uppteam experts worked methodically through every calculation to guarantee accurate stormwater compliance.
