Precise Construction Documentation for a South Carolina Recreational Facility

uppteam’s AOP division engaged in this project to deliver a comprehensive construction documentation package for a new recreational amenities center in South Carolina. The infrastructure combined a swimming pool, fitness center, restrooms, and dedicated leisure spaces, all of which demanded precise coordination to function as a cohesive facility.
We prepared the full drawing set featuring the life safety plan, site plan, code-compliance documentation, floor plans, RCPs, sections and details, enlarged floor plans, millwork details, and door, window, and material finish schedules.
Project Timeline
- Phase 1 - In this opening phase, our team reviewed the life safety plan, site plan, and code-compliance specifications, establishing the regulatory framework that the rest of the drawing set would adhere to.
- Phase 2 - Next, we created the floor plans and RCPs, with special attention to the swimming pool. The AOP team cross-checked dimensions, depths, steps, coping, and deck levels across every sheet to ensure the pool geometry remains consistent throughout the project.
- Phase 3 - During this stage, we produced sections, details, and enlarged floor plans for specialized areas that a standard floor plan alone could not convey. Clear tags and annotations captured the design integrity for the construction crew at the site.
- Phase 4 - In the last phase, our team concluded millwork details along with door, window, and material finish schedules. Then, we coordinated circulation routes, entrances, and transitions between wet and dry zones so the fitness center, pool, changing areas, and restrooms would function smoothly together.
Additional Notes
- Pool geometry required precision, and therefore we checked dimensions and level data repeatedly across the plans to avoid discrepancies upon reaching the construction site.
- Numerous specialized elements were not visible on the standard floor plan, so we addressed these through enlarged details and unambiguous annotations that gave the construction team full context.
- Both wet and dry zones necessitated coexistence without compromising usability. Our team resolved this by organizing circulation and entrances around each area’s function.
- Our architectural production support provided the design team with added bandwidth to concentrate on decisions while drafting work advanced independently.
