Uppteam’s civil designers worked on a unique project that revolved around conceptual designing and detailing for the client, who owned a prominent urban planning firm specializing in sustainable city development. The client collaborated with Uppteam to complete a civil design project that adhered to local zoning regulations in Texas. They required detailed civil drawings (foundational plans, landscaping, property lines, etc.).
Challenges
Our designers had to balance the client’s vision with local zoning regulations. Integrating sustainable design features while maintaining project feasibility and budget constraints was also challenging.
We needed to coordinate promptly based on the input shared by multiple stakeholders, including the client, local community representatives, and city officials. Completing the complex project within 10 working days was also tricky.
Solutions
Uppteam’s civil engineering designers brainstormed to come up with solutions for this complex project. The client shared initial site surveys and a vision document for the redevelopment area. We started by cleaning up the initial designs to ensure the redeveloped design harmonized with the existing commercial design while ensuring the design looked modern and sustainable, complying with zonal regulations.
While the client updated us about their communication with the county officials, we continued to create the grading, utility, and erosion. Since we had a time crunch for the 16,000 sq. ft. project, we updated the client in real-time at every stage for smooth collaboration and timely delivery.
