Task Assigned

Recently, Uppteam engaged in a project with the Lechonera Latina restaurant in Orlando, Florida. The primary objective of this partnership was to support the complete renovation and redevelopment of the restaurant, which spans approximately 3,000 square feet.

Operating under the Architectural Offshore Production (AOP) service, Uppteam handled the project from SD and DD through to construction and permit documentation. The final drawing package covered a site plan, existing/demo and proposed floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, sections, and details, food service equipment plans and schedules, and kitchen and light fixtures. Every element of the documentation was developed in accordance with the local permitting requirements.

Project Timeline

  • Phase 1 - This phase involved consolidating several independent site scans, cross-referencing legacy PDF drawings, and producing initial renovation layout concepts on the basis of validated existing conditions.
  • Phase 2 - During this course, Uppteam worked on refining the design through extensive client coordination. Simultaneously, we conducted a thorough review of city and country standards, including niche compliance requirements for the fire access plan.
  • Phase 3 - The main job in this phase was to deliver the whole permit-ready drawing package. Our expert team ensured the incorporation of food service equipment plans, kitchen layouts, light fixture schedules, and every code-conforming document needed for county submission within the set.

Additional Notes

  • At the beginning, consolidating multiple independent scans was a core challenge. Uppteam incorporated all scan information with sheer precision, referencing older PDF drawings and client-provided site measurements to confirm alignment and model accuracy.
  • Our team ensured county compliance was addressed proactively. City and county codes, specifically those relevant to the Fire Access Plan, were reviewed in detail and consistently applied across all documentation.
  • We also performed regular milestone reviews with the client to keep design choices aligned with both operational objectives and permitting specifications.
  • The client received a robustly coordinated, ready-for-construction documentation package allowing for a seamless handoff from design to construction.
